Refund, anyone?

OK, I'll admit it, I've been watching the current season of The Bachelor on ABC that just ended last night. I'll admit another thing...I'm a big sap. I love a good love story and a happy ending. Never mind that the couples on these shows usually break up after the "real world" hits them. There was a Wichita native (Jenni) on this season and she actually made it to the final two. I was excited to watch last night's finale because I thought it could go either way. Sometimes I got the impression he'd pick Jenni and other times DeAnna. So I watched along with millions of others. He picked out a ring which seemed easy enough. Seemed pretty decisive about that. Then it was time for the final rose ceremony. And as far as the girl, he picked...neither one.

Huh? I feel cheated and I want my money back. He's cute, but give me a break.

Lazy Days

I don't have any pictures from my action-packed weekend. Mostly because I didn't have an action-packed weekend. I spent most of the time sleeping (one of my favorite things to do on a fall weekend) and getting caught up on television premieres I'd missed during the week.

One of the highlights of premiere week was the new show "Dirty Sexy Money" on ABC. I can tell it's going to be a guilty pleasure. I love Peter Krause from "Six Feet Under" fame and am looking forward to seeing him in this role. We'll see how it plays out, but for now I'm in.

Last night's premieres of "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters" didn't disappoint, either. I think both shows have set the stage for some exciting stuff this season. And I'm looking forward to the return (on October 12) of "Men In Trees" one of my favorite new shows from last year.

I'd like to give a shout out to my friend Kathleen for allowing me to join her and her walking buddy, Carolyn. I've been walking with them (when they're walking and I'm available) for a 2.4-mile walk three times a week. Kathleen's husband, Dave, also joins us when he can. I'm a Sunday, Wednesday, Friday walker. The first time I walked with them I literally thought I was going to D-I-E. But I survived and it's gotten easier. The scale has even budged a little bit and that always makes me feel good. Last night I was really not looking forward to the walk, but I went (after forcing Kathleen into making me to go) and am so glad I did. I look forward to Wednesday when I get to go again. Thanks ladies (and Dave), for making the walks seem more like gossip with friends than like exercise!

Prison Broken

So, my TiVo picked up 7 minutes of the "Prison Break" season premiere last night. It was 7 minutes of indecipherable garbage. So off to the FOX website I will go to see if I can watch the episode there. If not that, then I'll read the episode update. So boring compared to watching Michael and Lincoln act out the episode. I'm sad.

I finished reading my book club's September selection "Water For Elephants"
instead of watching television last night, which is probably a better way to spend the time anyway. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this book. I loved it. Such an original story and I loved the way author Sara Gruen told the story through flashbacks of the 93-year-old Jacob. My opinion: you won't be sorry if you crack open this book. Two enthusiastic thumbs way up!
